Meet Abigail. Abigail was diagnosed with Hypoxic I Meet Abigail. Abigail was diagnosed with Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE) when she was a few days old. She quit getting oxygen and blood to her brain at some point in utero. She was also diagnosed with Spastic Quad CP, epilepsy, cortical visual impairment and global developmental delays. In 2017, her family was stationed to Fort Gordon. The Children’s Hospital of Georgia has been their go to hospital since moving to Augusta. Abigail also got her G-tube placed by Dr. Hatley in December 2017. From Abigail’s mother, “all of Abigail’s specialists are at CHOG and we love them all (Dr. Sekul, Dr. Park, Kate Burgner, Lashawn Boone). Abigail has also been admitted in the hospital numerous times and every time the nurses and doctors were wonderful and caring. One nurse in particular who we dearly love is Kelly Edwards. She took care of Abigail a few times while admitted in the hospital and now she cares for Abigail while she is in school at Apparo Academy.” Abigail is a happy 3-year-old who is always smiling and laughing. She loves being around other people, interacting with them and loves to make others laugh by acting like she can’t do things. Her favorite thing to do is to pretend she is sleeping and when you look away she’ll peek with one eye and start laughing. Throughout everything, she has not let anything stop her from working hard to improve, physically, as much as she can. Abigail truly is a #MiracleKid. ❤️ 📷: @annahrtr17
